The Orenburg resident who ran up to Governor Pasler had his arrest term shortened.
The Sverdlovsk Regional Court has reduced the term of administrative arrest for a resident of Orenburg who attempted to approach the governor during the May Day event. This was reported on Tuesday, May 5, by the press service of the courts of the Sverdlovsk region.
The incident occurred on May 1 on Repina Street, 5 during an event dedicated to the celebration of Spring and Labor Day. One of the attendees, upon seeing the head of the region, Denis Pasler, "suddenly rushed towards him and was stopped by the security service."
In response to the interference, the "determined citizen reacted with foul language," for which a protocol on administrative offense was drawn up against him under part 1 of article 20.1 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation ("Minor Hooliganism"). The Verkh-Isetsky District Court of Yekaterinburg found 42-year-old Serik Taspakov, a resident of the Orenburg region, guilty. He fully admitted his guilt.
The citizen was sentenced to 14 days of administrative arrest. The ruling of the Verkh-Isetsky District Court was appealed in the Sverdlovsk Regional Court. Following the appellate review, the court deemed it possible to reduce the term of administrative arrest to 4 days.
It was previously reported that Denis Pasler himself defended the resident of the region he once governed, not seeing any malicious intent in the man's actions.
