The condition of the child, whose mother was killed by a racer in a Lexus, has become known.

      It has become known about the condition of the one-and-a-half-year-old child whose mother died in a car accident caused by a Lexus driver.

       As reported by a source from "KP-Yekaterinburg," last week the child regained consciousness. His condition is currently assessed as moderate, and his indicators are stable. He is in a specialized department with his father.

      The accident occurred on April 11 in Yekaterinburg. 24-year-old Dmitry Garenkiy was driving along Kosmonavtov Avenue at high speed, maneuvering dangerously and cutting off other cars. At some point, he lost control of the vehicle, collided with a Toyota, after which he veered into oncoming traffic and crashed into a BMW driven by 30-year-old Anna Zhidkikh. A small son was in the car with her.

      The woman and the child were urgently taken to the hospital, but Anna could not be saved. The boy sustained severe injuries - a traumatic brain injury and fractures - and had been in a coma since April 11.

      Anna was laid to rest on April 16. She is survived by her husband and another child.

      After the accident, Garenkiy attempted to flee, but witnesses detained him. According to them, he behaved inadequately: he was cursing, spitting, and making obscene gestures. On April 14, the court arrested him. He will soon undergo a psychiatric evaluation. In the pre-trial detention center, he claims he does not remember what happened and cites alcohol abuse against a backdrop of depression.

      Initially, the man was charged under the article for violating traffic rules resulting in death while intoxicated. Later, the case was reclassified: he is now charged with murder out of hooligan motives and attempted murder of a minor. He could face up to life imprisonment.
