A turnstile in Yekaterinburg's metro closed, injuring a tourist.
A resident of Omsk has won a lawsuit to recover 120,000 rubles from the Yekaterinburg metro after sustaining an injury at the "Prospekt Kosmonavtov" station. This was reported by the press service of the Omsk Regional Court.
According to the court, the incident occurred while exiting the station: during the passage through the turnstile, the device's flaps suddenly closed and injured the man's thigh.
After the incident, the victim turned to the court. He demanded compensation for moral damage, lost earnings, and medical expenses. Representatives of the Yekaterinburg metro disputed the fact of the injury during the proceedings and claimed that the amount of compensation requested was excessive.
However, the court found the plaintiff's arguments to be justified. The Omsk Regional Court clarified that the causal link between the operation of the turnstile and the injury was confirmed by expert conclusions, medical documents, as well as the testimonies of the man himself and his wife.
As a result, the court partially granted the claim and ordered the Yekaterinburg metro to pay 120,000 rubles to the resident of Omsk.
