Nutritionist, associate professor of the Department of Physical Culture at the State University of Management Irina Merkulova warned about products that may increase the risk of developing oncological diseases.
According to the specialist, the most dangerous are processed meat products - sausages, hot dogs, bacon, and ham. She noted that such products belong to group one carcinogens. Regular consumption of even small portions, about 50 grams a day, can increase the likelihood of developing colon cancer by 18%.
Additionally, sweet carbonated drinks and store-bought juices with high sugar content also have a negative impact on the body, according to the expert. They can provoke chronic inflammatory processes and obesity, which are considered some of the risk factors for developing oncology.
Furthermore, the nutritionist, in a conversation with Lenta.ru, recommended limiting the consumption of fatty sauces, industrial seasonings, and ready-made dressings. The main danger in such products comes from trans fats, excess sugar, and salt.
