The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, called the Sverdlovsk region a "Russia-forming" region.
On May 18, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, during a meeting with the governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Denis Pasler, referred to this region of Russia as "Russia-forming." This was reported by the BelTA agency. The politicians discussed important areas for cooperation.
As Pasler wrote on his Telegram channel, the Sverdlovsk region and Belarus continue to develop industrial cooperation, implementing joint projects in machine engineering, energy, and transportation. One example of effective interaction was the creation of a joint venture "Hydraulic United Company" by the companies "Pnevmostroymashina" and "BELAZ." The enterprise produces hydraulic equipment for dump trucks, replacing foreign analogs and providing equipment for the mining and metallurgical complex.
Another area of cooperation has been the expansion of production capacities of the Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant named after E.S. Yalamov, which is part of the "Shvabe" holding of the Rostec State Corporation. The enterprise opened a subsidiary specializing in the production of products made from modern composite materials.
Today, Belarus ranks third among the foreign trade partners of the Sverdlovsk region. The region exports metals, machine engineering products, chemical industry goods, and timber to the republic. In the opposite direction, equipment for apartment buildings, agricultural machinery, and light industry goods are supplied. In particular, about 70% of the elevators installed in the region are produced in Belarus. Additionally, over the past two years, Yekaterinburg has received Belarusian trolleybuses.
