An informed source told "KP-Yekaterinburg" about the death of 44-year-old Natalia Shevnina. Natalia died on May 20 in one of the city hospitals, never regaining consciousness. She is survived by two minor children, a son and a daughter. The information about the death of the daughter-in-law was confirmed to "KP-Yekaterinburg" by her mother-in-law Galina Tkach.
As previously reported, all adult family members were fond of Harley-Davidson motorcycles — Shevnin himself, his wife, and their eldest son.
The accident occurred around 10:50 PM on Tuesday, May 19, at the intersection of Furmanov and Stepan Razin streets and was recorded by a traffic camera.
A Toyota RAV4 failed to yield to Shevnina's Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Businessman Andrei Shevnin and his childhood friend Vasily Kuznetsov were detained in the fall of 2024 in connection with a 30-year-old criminal case. Shevnin, his uncle (who is listed as missing), and Kuznetsov are accused of the murder, coupled with the rape, of two 13-year-old girls in 1994.
Shevnin became a successful businessman and a model family man. Upon his arrest, he offered the operatives a bribe to let him go. The amount mentioned was 50 million rubles. Later, his defense attempted to bribe an important witness for half a million rubles, who could testify in favor of the prosecution.
