Foreign journalists arrived in Yekaterinburg ahead of an important event.
Journalists and bloggers from Russian-language media outlets broadcasting in Latvia, Germany, France, Kazakhstan, and other countries have arrived in Yekaterinburg as part of a press tour taking place from May 20 to 22, reports the Department of Information Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region.
The trip is organized in anticipation of the International Youth Festival, which will be held in Yekaterinburg in September of this year. The festival is expected to gather around 10,000 people from 190 countries around the world. Another task facing the region is the resettlement of compatriots.
Deputy Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Vasily Kozlov presented the guests with the Middle Urals as one of the largest industrial regions of Russia with a rich history, talented residents, opportunities for obtaining quality practice-oriented education, and a vibrant cultural space.
Already now, foreign journalists will get acquainted with one of the key venues of the International Youth Festival - the new campus of UrFU.
They will also visit the RMC Martial Arts Academy, TMK production, the "Hermitage-Ural" center, the "Ural Opera Ballet" theater, the "Severskaya Domna" museum complex, the comprehensive development quarter - the Academic microdistrict, and will get to know Ural cuisine.
Special attention during the trip is given to the topic of resettling compatriots. Since 2023, a state program has been implemented in the region to assist the voluntary resettlement of compatriots living abroad.
During this period, more than 36,000 people have resettled to the region, with an average age of resettlers being 29 years, as reported by the DIP. People are coming to live and work in the region not only from CIS countries but also from Europe, the Baltics, Canada, and the USA.
