Yekaterinburg may run out of funds for improvement projects.
Yekaterinburg risks losing federal funding for the improvement of public spaces. This was stated by the deputy head of the city administration, Alexander Tolkachev, who oversees issues related to landscaping, transport, and roads.
According to the vice-mayor, as of the morning of May 21, only 160,000 people participated in the voting for improvement projects, while 289,000 were needed. To receive federal support under the "Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment" program, the city needs to gather another 129,000 votes in the remaining 22 days.
One of the reasons for the low activity, the official cited technical problems during the voting. According to him, the system on the "Gosuslugi" portal generally works stably; however, residents faced internet disruptions.
He added that the city administration continues to look for ways to speed up the voting process and attract more residents to participate in the project.
Currently, voting for the park can be done independently through "Gosuslugi" or with volunteers on the streets of the city.
