A crisis apartment for young mothers in difficult life situations has appeared in the Sverdlovsk region.

      The crisis apartment "New Life" to assist families with children in difficult life situations has opened in the Sysert district based on branch No. 2 of the "Children's Home," reports the Department of Information Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region.

      The new social service is aimed at young mothers who, due to life circumstances, have been separated from their child or need temporary support. The opening of the apartment is one of the measures of the family support program.

      "This apartment is not just walls and a roof over your head. It is an opportunity for a mother to learn the most important thing in a safe, supportive environment: to be a mother, to believe in herself. And here, the competencies of the specialists from the 'Children's Home' will come in very handy, as they will help, show, and teach," said Olga Udartseva, Deputy Minister of Social Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region.

      The apartment is designed for the simultaneous accommodation of four families with children for a period of up to six months. The first residents of the new space are young mother Sofia and her son Egor. It is expected that in June, two more families will move into the crisis apartment.

      Here, there is everything necessary for a comfortable stay: a equipped kitchen, children's cribs, and space for caring for the little ones.

      During their stay, children will be able to engage with specialists from the institution, including psychologists and educators. At the same time, interdepartmental councils will help overcome difficult life situations: if necessary, they will provide assistance in finding housing, employment, or processing documents.

      The project is implemented by the Ministry of Social Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region in collaboration with the NGO "Strong Generation" using funds from the donors of the 15th Catherine Assembly.
