A resident of Yekaterinburg was fined tens of thousands for collecting nuts in a nature park.
The Verkh-Isetsky District Court of Yekaterinburg fined a city resident 52,800 rubles for gathering pine nuts in Khakassia. The press service of the regional courts reported that the man collected them in the republican nature park back in 2022.
He did not negotiate with the park administration. He managed to gather 35 kilograms of nuts, for which he was initially fined 3,000 rubles. All of his harvest was also confiscated.
— Since the man did not voluntarily compensate for the damage caused to the park, the Directorate for Specially Protected Natural Areas of the Republic of Khakassia turned to the court. The amount of the claim exceeded 50,000 rubles. The parties did not appear for the hearing, and the decision was made based on the submitted documents, the court clarified.
As a result, the court fined him in absentia for the illegal harvesting of edible forest resources. It was previously reported that summer residents could face fines for growing potatoes.
