Former Minister of Energy and Housing and Utilities of the Sverdlovsk Region Nikolai Smirnov, convicted in December last year on charges of receiving a bribe, has taken the position of advisor to the general director of "Vodokanal" on general issues.
This was reported to the 66.RU portal by an informed source at the enterprise.
"We decided to use his experience. Nikolai Borisovich has already started at the new position," the competent interlocutor clarified.
Earlier in November, the former official mentioned that he was hired by the development company PRINZIP as an assistant to the general director.
It should be noted that the former minister entered into a pre-trial agreement with the investigation, the terms of which he fulfilled in full, and was sentenced by the Verkh-Isetsky District Court of Yekaterinburg to a suspended sentence and a fine of 4.4 million rubles.
In addition, as indicated by the prosecutor's office, the convicted individual was banned for 5 years from holding positions related to the functions of a government representative, organizational and administrative powers, and administrative and economic authority.
