In the run-up to the motorcycle culture festival "Movement," which will take place in Yekaterinburg from June 5-7, the Ministry of Health of the Sverdlovsk region decided to talk about bikers in white coats—people who combine work in healthcare with a risky hobby.
Doctors who own motorcycles will participate in a motorcycle rally, reports the regional Ministry of Health channel in MAX. "I've had my motorcycle since 2017," shared Alexander Rozhin, the chief physician of the City Hospital of Pervouralsk.
Following Boris Vasilyevich Fadin, who led the vascular surgery department of the Sverdlovsk Regional Clinical Hospital No. 1 for over a quarter of a century, nurse-anesthetist Elena Vladyshova from the department of X-ray surgical methods of diagnosis and treatment at the same hospital also became interested in biking and acquired a motorcycle. Together, they traveled across half the country on their "iron horses."
Medical brother Konstantin Zagvozdkin from the department of anesthesiology, resuscitation, and intensive care for newborns and premature infants No. 1 of the Children's Clinical Hospital developed an interest in speed in childhood through sports karting. Over time, he switched to two wheels.
Vladimir Gavrikov, head of the urology department at City Clinical Hospital No. 14, does not hide the fact that the path to the motorcycle community has been thorny. He already has one accident behind him. But he is still convinced that a motorcycle is a symbol of freedom. He believes that the essence lies in the balance between control (as in the operating room) and drive.
