A Yekaterinburg student presented his invention to the head of Apple.
A student from Yekaterinburg, Anton Baranov, presented his application to Apple CEO Tim Cook. The meeting took place at the WWDC26 conference in California. Anton studies at the Technical University of Central Hesse (THM) in Germany. His application is called Pitch Coach. It uses AirPods sensors to monitor the owner's posture, speech tempo, and filter out filler words. This idea came to Anton at the age of 16 after a failed interview. He admitted that he couldn't coherently talk about his projects at that time, and thus decided that "technical skills are useless if you can't present them." In May 2026, Apple recognized the Yekaterinburg resident as a "Distinguished Winner" of the Swift Student Challenge, reports the publication Rozetked. The Yekaterinburg developer's work was published on the company's official website. A few days ago, on June 8, the German university THM released a press release detailing the success of the 22-year-old Ural student. This application has been installed by more than 25,000 people. In Russia, it is downloaded the most in Yekaterinburg and Arkhangelsk, but Anton dreams of reaching 100,000 downloads, writes Ura.Ru.
