The solemn ceremony for the presentation of the first numbers of the new series took place in Yekaterinburg. The issuance of signs with the code "166" is carried out during the initial registration of vehicles, change of ownership, as well as when making changes to registration data.
The introduction of an additional code is due to the exhaustion of combinations in the existing series. Analyzing the codes "66", "96", and "196", on average, the regional code lasts for 13 years - during this time, the alphanumeric combinations are exhausted.
The previous registration plates with the regional codes "66", "96", and "196" remain valid and have the same legal significance. The sign can be obtained at the place of residence.
Every day in Yekaterinburg, about 40-50 license plates are issued.
