A foreign citizen arriving on a flight from Baku was stopped in the "green" corridor of customs control by inspectors at the Koltsovo Airport (passenger), the press service of the Ural Customs Administration reported on Monday.
In the suitcase of the arriving foreigner, 18 bottles of perfume were discovered. According to the man, he brought the perfumes from his own store as gifts for colleagues and team workers - he works at a large petrochemical company.
"Based on the quantity and assortment of the products, as well as the frequency of crossing the customs border by an individual, customs officials concluded that the goods were not for personal use. Commercial batches of goods must be declared," explained Sergey Borovik, head of the customs post at Koltsovo Airport (passenger).
An administrative offense case has been initiated against the foreign citizen under part 1 of article 16.2 of the Administrative Offenses Code of Russia (non-declaration of goods). This article provides for a fine ranging from half to double the value of the goods.
