After the tragedy near Bolshoy Zlatoust, security forces in civilian clothes are monitoring the bus drivers.
After the tragic bus accident in the center of Yekaterinburg, which resulted in the deaths of four pedestrians, including a young child, the State Traffic Inspectorate intends to strengthen personal control over public transport drivers.
The regional agency representatives announced plans to enhance covert monitoring of compliance with traffic rules in Russia during a meeting with carriers.
From now on, inspections will primarily focus on the drivers themselves. Inspectors in plain clothes will continue to monitor their work, reports the EAN agency.
State Traffic Inspectorate employees are already riding on buses disguised as regular passengers and recording violations committed by the driver at the wheel.
"There are fines for using a phone, but no one is afraid of them; everyone talks on the phone," said State Traffic Inspectorate employees.
As a result of such raids, violators are held administratively accountable.
