Automatic recording of violations by trucks with two signs will begin on July 1 in Yekaterinburg.

Starting from July 1, 2026, photo and video recording complexes in Yekaterinburg will begin to automatically detect violations by drivers of freight transport regarding the requirements of road signs 3.4 and 5.15.7. This measure is aimed at reducing accidents, reports the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region.

The road sign 3.4 "Movement of trucks is prohibited" (prohibits the movement of freight vehicles, as well as road trains, including those with trailers, tractors, and self-propelled machines, if their permitted maximum weight exceeds 3.5 tons) and road sign 5.15.7 "Direction of movement by lanes," which depicts a sign prohibiting the movement of trucks, are being referred to.

Two types of violations will be subject to automatic control.

The first type of violation is the movement of freight transport in the left lane on sections of roads where the road sign 5.15.7 "Direction of movement by lanes" is installed.

The second type of violation is the movement of trucks, tractors, and self-propelled machines (cleaning municipal, construction, and road equipment, truck-mounted lifts, ATVs, etc.) in violation of the requirements of road sign 3.4 "Movement of trucks is prohibited."

According to the traffic rules, automatic recording does not apply to vehicles of postal organizations, as well as to trucks without trailers weighing no more than 26 tons, servicing enterprises in the area of the signs.

At the entrance to the central part of Yekaterinburg within the "freight framework," the road owner has installed signs 3.4 "Movement of trucks is prohibited" with plates indicating the direction of their action at 22 intersections.

At some intersections, plates have also been installed to limit the time of the prohibition from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Work is underway to install similar signs above the roadway on bypass roads - "EKAD," the "Yekaterinburg - Koltsovo" route, and "Yekaterinburg - Nizhny Tagil - Serov."
