"The top 10 has been determined." For the mascot sable, 887 name options were suggested.

On June 21, 2026, 887 name options for the sable cub - the symbol of the International Youth Festival were proposed by residents of the Sverdlovsk region and other regions, responding to the request to come up with a name for the mascot.

The absolute leader in the number of applications was Yekaterinburg - 372 proposals. Among other municipalities in the region, the most active were Nizhny Tagil, Pervouralsk, Kirovgrad, Verkhnyaya Pyshma, and Novouralsk. High engagement was demonstrated by Krasnoturinsk, Nizhnyaya Salda, and Sukhoi Log. The most popular theme turned out to be regional, as reported by the Sverdlovsk region's Department of Information Policy. Options related to the Urals - such as Uralik, Uralets, Uralenok - were proposed most often.

A significant portion of the options is connected to the historical and cultural heritage of the region. For example - Danila, Akinfiy, Demid, Kokovanya, Ermak, and Rifei. These names reflect references to the tales of Bazhov, the Demidov dynasty, the Ural Mountains, and historical figures.

A separate group consists of names inspired by Ural gemstones. Among the most frequently encountered were Malachite, Malachitik, Samotsvetik, Izumrudik, and Almazik.

Many participants tried to reflect the character of the event and the youthful energy in the name of the mascot. Thus, options like Dvizh, Dvizhok, Impulse, Vector, Drayvik, and Festik emerged.

Another notable trend is the idea of unity and cooperation among youth from different countries. This is evidenced by numerous options like Mir, Miron, Mirosha, Dobromir, Unik, and Unite.

The top 10 names for the mascot of the International Youth Festival included: Uralik, Snezhok, Demid, Malachitik, Rifei, Ekatik, Danila, Festik, Miron, and Max.

Voting for a variant from the top 10 is open on the Information Portal of the Sverdlovsk region. The final name will be announced at festive events on Youth Day by Sverdlovsk Governor Denis Pasler.

The competition turned out to be interesting not only for residents of the Sverdlovsk region. Proposals were sent in from other regions of Russia and even other countries. The list includes participants from Tashkent, Thailand, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Belarus.

Let us remind you that the International Youth Festival will take place from September 11 to 17 at the campus of UrFU. The event will unite more than 10,000 young leaders from Russia and 190 countries. About 2,000 volunteers will be involved in organizing the festival.
