      The Sysert District Court of the Sverdlovsk Region has ordered a former student of the Ural Federal University to reimburse the state for expenses. This was reported by the unified press service of the courts in the region.

      As established by the court, the student was studying in the specialty "Special Purpose Vehicles" at the military training center of UrFU. However, in his third year, he was expelled for academic failure. According to the case materials, since the fall of 2020, the cadet had outstanding academic debts that he did not attempt to resolve, and he also did not fulfill the requirements of the curriculum.

      After his expulsion, the former student went to court, trying to challenge the terms of the military training contract and the wording of the contract termination. However, the court found that the contract was concluded in accordance with established procedures, and the expulsion procedure was conducted legally.

      As a result of the case review, the court ruled to recover almost 400,000 rubles from the defendant in favor of the federal budget as compensation for the costs of his military training.
