      In Alapaevsk, a 9-year-old child on a powerful electric scooter was hit by a car and sustained a serious head injury. The boy has been hospitalized in intensive care.

      The accident occurred on June 20 on Tolmacheva Street. According to preliminary data, the child unexpectedly rode onto the roadway from behind parked cars when a Chery Tiggo vehicle was moving down the road. The driver tried to brake, but was unable to avoid the collision.

      As established by traffic inspectors, the power of the electric scooter was 350 W, which classifies it as a moped and requires a category "M" driver's license. The child did not have a license. Additionally, he was riding without a helmet and protective gear, which exacerbated the severity of his injuries.

      The mother of the injured child stated that she bought the electric scooter as a gift for her son and was unaware of the legal requirements. An administrative protocol has been drawn up against the woman, and she faces a fine of 30,000 rubles. The materials have also been sent to the juvenile affairs department. The circumstances of the incident are still being investigated by the State Traffic Inspectorate.
