At Koltsovo, customs officials did not allow the passenger to leave the country with a frame for glasses.
A passenger flying on the "Yekaterinburg - Beijing" flight, who passed through the "green" corridor of the customs control zone, was stopped by customs inspectors at Koltsovo Airport, the press service of the Ural Customs Administration reported on Friday.
The man entered the "green" corridor with a backpack that contained 100 eyeglass frames.
The passenger explained that he was taking the frames to Beijing for exchange with a supplier and did not know that goods not for personal use must be declared.
Considering the quantity, assortment of goods, and the man's own explanations, customs inspectors recognized the frames as a commercial shipment.
An administrative offense case has been initiated under part 1 of article 16.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Russia (failure to declare goods). The court may impose a fine ranging from half to double the value of the goods.
