The GUFSIN showcased an icon of the Mother of God, created by the inmates of the colony.
In the Federal Penitentiary Service, an icon of the Mother of God made by convicted inmates was showcased.
On June 26, 2026, the annual exhibition-fair of institutions of the penal enforcement system will take place at the Palace of Youth (Lenin Avenue, 1) in Yekaterinburg on July 3-4, the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Sverdlovsk region reported on Friday.
The FSIN management from 9 regions will present their products in the Ural capital. Traditionally, a significant place at the departmental exhibition-fair will be occupied by consumer goods manufactured in the institutions of the penal enforcement system of the Sverdlovsk region.
For example, IK-47 (Kamensk-Uralsky) will present a wide range of products: metalworking items (stoves, barbecues, bath and picnic accessories); woodworking products (soft chairs, pouf-benches, extendable tables); souvenir products (carved backgammon and chess, thematic panels); samples of sewing products and LED lamps on demonstration stands.
Paid jobs have been created for 436 convicted individuals in the colony. Since the beginning of this year, products worth 79.1 million rubles have been produced.
IK-3 (Krasnoturinsk) is also actively preparing for the exhibition-fair in Yekaterinburg. Barbecue zones, gazebos, swings, benches, metal architectural elements, metal-framed garden furniture, wooden garden furniture, garden toilets, slab benches on metal frames, epoxy resin tables, chess, etc. will be presented.
Last year, IK-3 sold nearly a million rubles worth of products only at the fair. In July, residents and guests of the city will have a new opportunity to appreciate the craftsmanship of the convicted individuals.
