The authorities of the Sverdlovsk region plan to send new three-section trams to the Academic District and the ZBI microdistrict. This was reported by Governor Denis Pasler.

      — It is important to provide new trams for routes connecting the Academic District and the ZBI microdistrict with other parts of the city. These are dynamically developing areas, where construction is ongoing, and there are questions regarding transport accessibility. We need to address these issues with the help of new transport, Pasler wrote on his social media.

Earlier, the governor reported that in 2026, Yekaterinburg will purchase a record batch of 50 three-section trams. Seven new cars have already arrived in the city.

In addition, this year, the public transport fleet of Yekaterinburg will be replenished with 140 new buses. Of these, 120 will be allocated to Gorttrans, and another 20 will operate with private carriers. The purchase includes 100 large-class buses, 25 medium-class buses, and 15 specially large-class buses ("articulated buses").
