In Yekaterinburg, the court refused to release a 15-year-old skinhead student from pre-trial detention.

On July 4, 2026, the Sverdlovsk Regional Court reviewed an appeal against the arrest of a 15-year-old student from one of the lyceums in Yekaterinburg, who was detained for beating a passerby in Arkhipov Park in January, in a closed session. This was reported by 66.RU.

On the evening of January 26, the 15-year-old detainee, along with four accomplices aged 16 to 17, attacked a 26-year-old man in Arkhipov Park on Bardina Street in Yekaterinburg, as previously reported by the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region. The teenager claimed that the man allegedly "expressed sexual desire towards him."

The minors were posting flyers with images of swastikas and other banned symbols, as well as extremist calls, on the streets. Sources describe them as followers of the Hitler Youth and Maxim Martynkevich, nicknamed Tesak* (*a neo-Nazi who was listed as a terrorist and extremist by Rosfinmonitoring in 2014), writes 66.RU. The teenagers used Tesak's* methods — beating random passersby on camera and then posting the videos online, adding music and shouting extremist slogans. During searches, they were found with brass knuckles, knives, guns, and pyrotechnic cartridges.

The accused, aged 16 to 17, are under a travel ban and are cooperating with the investigation, an informed source reported. They have, in particular, testified against their 15-year-old friend, who, unlike them, is behind bars. They claim they are not involved in the crime. As 66.RU learned, two of them studied at schools No. 84 and No. 68, while the other two attended the Ural College of Technology and Entrepreneurship and the Sverdlovsk Regional Medical College.

The arrested lyceum student has been charged with fraud (two episodes) and undergoing training for the purpose of carrying out terrorist activities (the charge was based on a linguistic examination), reports 66.RU.

The teenager does not admit guilt. He explains one of the episodes of his criminal case by saying that the man he attacked sent him intimate photos on social networks. However, according to a source from 66.RU, "the attacks were fundamentally based on an ideology of hatred towards representatives of other religions and nationalities."

The Sverdlovsk Regional Court rejected the appeal filed by his defense for a milder measure of restraint to house arrest in a closed session. According to sources from 66.RU, the lyceum student is also ready to testify and cooperate.

The youngest member of this group is already in a juvenile correctional facility. As 66.RU writes, one of the 16-year-old defendants persuaded a 14-year-old boy at that time to take responsibility for the slogans, "because due to his age, nothing would happen to him."
