      The certification of the light multipurpose aircraft "Baikal" is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2027. This was announced by the head of Rosaviation, Dmitry Yadrov, at the international industrial exhibition "Innoprom-2026." RBC reports.

      According to him, the project is at the final stage of certification. He noted that the decision to use the chosen engine allowed for the avoidance of redoing part of the certification procedures. Yadrov also mentioned that by 2035, there is already a demand for the delivery of 69 aircraft of this model.

      The LМС-901 "Baikal" is intended for regional air transportation and is set to replace the outdated An-2 aircraft. The project is being developed by "Baikal-Engineering," which is part of the Ural Civil Aviation Plant. Initially, mass production was planned to start in 2024, but the deadlines have been postponed several times – first to 2025, then to 2026.
