An electric train may be launched from Yekaterinburg to Sysert.

The project for railway communication between Yekaterinburg and Sysert, which has been discussed for many years, has received a chance for continuation. The authorities of the Sverdlovsk region announced that the owners of private railway tracks are ready to transfer them to the region, which had previously been the main obstacle to the development of suburban communication. Governor Denis Pasler shared this information with journalists at the INNOPROM event, as reported by "Signal Ural."

According to the regional head, an agreement with the business sector was reached recently. This concerns not only the route to Sysert but also the possible development of railway communication with the satellite cities of Yekaterinburg – Sredneuralsk and Berezovsky. Previously, the implementation of such projects was impossible because part of the railway infrastructure was privately owned.

As Pasler noted, previous attempts to resolve this issue had been made for about ten years, but the track owners did not agree to transfer them to the state. Now, according to him, the business has expressed its willingness to do so, which will allow the authorities to begin further development of the projects.

At the same time, the governor emphasized that the launch of electric trains is not imminent. Before making a decision, it is necessary to assess the economic feasibility and potential passenger flow.
