According to preliminary data from the State Traffic Inspectorate, around 14:45, a 27-year-old driver of the "Gazelle," who was heading towards Yekaterinburg, lost control and crashed into a Freightliner truck with a fuel tank that was parked on the roadside. After the collision, the cabin of the "Gazelle" was trapped under the semi-trailer.
The driver of the "Gazelle" died at the scene from his injuries. It is known that he was a resident of Lipetsk, and he had two years of driving experience. Previously, he had been held administratively responsible 48 times for traffic violations.
The Freightliner was driven by a 49-year-old driver who was traveling from Perm to Yekaterinburg. According to him, he stopped on the roadside, set up a warning triangle, and got out to help a colleague whose vehicle was on the opposite side of the road. The truck was carrying bitumen.
An investigation is underway regarding the accident, the results of which will determine the causes of what happened.
