Pushkin Street in Yekaterinburg will be connected to the railway station by a pedestrian route.
In Yekaterinburg, the reconstruction of Pushkin Street continues, which will become part of the city's unified pedestrian framework upon completion. The improvement will cover the section from Lenin Avenue to Malyshev Street, stretching nearly 400 meters.
Currently, the old road surface has already been dismantled at the site. Contractors are repairing engineering networks and storm drainage, modernizing the outdoor lighting system, and updating the road surface.
The next stage will involve the installation of new sidewalk lighting and surveillance cameras. A separate three-meter bike path, 330 meters long, will be arranged on the street, pedestrian zones will be expanded, and large-scale landscaping will be conducted.
After the reconstruction, Pushkin Street will transform into a full-fledged public space. A walking alley will appear here, and due to the narrowing of the roadway, more convenient parking will be organized. Several dozen trees, nearly 11,500 shrubs will be planted along the street, lawns will be created, and benches and trash bins will be installed.
As noted by the first deputy head of Yekaterinburg, Rustam Galyamov, the updated street will become part of a continuous walking route through the city center. It will connect Lenin Avenue, Popov Square, and the Literary Quarter, and in the future, the route is planned to be extended along Sverdlov Street to the railway station.
The work will be carried out in stages to maintain pedestrian access on the free side of the street. Meanwhile, vehicle traffic on the section of Pushkin Street from Malyshev Street to house No. 11 will remain closed until September 1.
