In the garage complexes of Pervouralsk, located 40 kilometers from the capital of the Middle Urals, police officers from the department for combating economic crimes and counteracting corruption manifestations of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sverdlovsk region, during the implementation of operational information, identified and suppressed the illegal activities of a group suspected of the illegal turnover of unmarked alcoholic, alcoholic-containing, and tobacco products totaling about two million rubles. This was reported by the press secretary of the regional police department, Valery Gorelykh.
According to him, a garage box on Papanintsev Street and a BAW vehicle driven by a 40-year-old local resident, as well as two of his accomplices born in 1980 and 1988, came under the detectives' scrutiny.
— "They 'caught' the crew at the moment of loading the surrogate into the van. Among the confiscated batch were various brands of vodka of dubious origin: 'Neft', 'Rodnik Sibir', 'With Silver', 'Finsky Ice', 'Armenian Cognac', 'Old Königsberg', and other counterfeit varieties. In total, at this point and two others, law enforcement officers discovered 8,700 packs of cigarettes 'Kosmos', 'Stolichnye', 'Marble', 3,988 containers, more commonly known as 'funfuryki', 13 ten-liter canisters of moonshine, and 1,743 half-liter bottles. Other shady places were located in garage cooperative No. 16 and on Beregovaya Street. The subjects of the underground business will be under a travel ban until the court proceedings. The police investigative authorities are determining how long the shadow entrepreneurs have been operating and which specific retail outlets in the Middle Urals the counterfeit products were sold to," noted Colonel Gorelykh.
A criminal case has been initiated in the Internal Affairs Directorate of Pervouralsk under the article "Illegal turnover of unmarked products." This article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 6 years with a fine of up to one million rubles.
