A Sverdlovsk teenager was accused of sabotage on the railway.
In the Sverdlovsk region, a 17-year-old teenager has been charged with sabotage on the railway. According to the investigation, in early June 2026, he agreed to commit arson after communicating with a fraudster on social media.
As reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia, the young man arrived at a section of the Sverdlovsk railway within Yekaterinburg, where he set fire to two relay cabinets responsible for regulating train traffic, as well as damaged other railway property.
After the incident, the teenager fled, but soon law enforcement officers identified him and detained him.
During the interrogation, the accused stated that he acted on the instructions of the fraudsters, who demanded a video recording of the incident.
— I was told to buy something. When I arrived at the location, the fraudster told me to take a crowbar. Then he started yelling because he couldn't see what I had done. At some point, my phone ran out of battery, the teenager said.
By court decision, the accused was placed in custody.
