In Yekaterinburg, three-section trams "Castor" are set to be directed to routes towards ZBI and Akademichesky. This was announced by Governor Denis Pasler at the new presentation of ten trams at the Western depot.
— The first batch of 10 trams will go to ZBI. The other batches will arrive in groups of 10-15. They will be distributed between Akademichesky and ZBI, Pasler is quoted by the EAN publication.
At the same time, by the end of the year, another 50 new trams of the model 71-639 "Castor" are expected to arrive in Yekaterinburg. Some of them will be directed to route 13.
It should be noted that Yekaterinburg received the new trams under a contract with "Sberbank Leasing": the city budget will pay for their cost in installments until the end of 2033. Each car accommodates 261 passengers. Another 20 such trams are expected in September, and the remaining 30 should arrive before the New Year.
