"The Ural Arbat will be freed from tasteless signs."
In Yekaterinburg, the improvement of the pedestrian street Vainera continues on the section from Lenin Avenue to Malysheva Street. At the same time, the city authorities are working to bring the facades of buildings and signs in line with the approved design code.
Work is also underway on Popova Street, in Theater Lane, and in the underground passage through Malysheva Street. In addition to repairs and improvements, the external appearance of buildings located along the city's tourist center is changing.
As reported by the Yekaterinburg administration, about 15 meetings have taken place with building owners, property owners, and tenants, with the participation of the first deputy mayor Rustam Galyamov. They were reminded of the need to bring facades and signs in line with the current improvement rules and requirements for building design. This work is planned to be completed by the beginning of September.
More than 110 organizations with signs are operating on the section of Vainera Street. According to the city hall, 18 of them have already replaced their signs in accordance with the requirements. As an example, the city authorities cite the building at Theater Lane, 5, where three organizations removed signs from the forged historical elements of the facade and placed them in specially designated areas.
Another 52 organizations intend to bring the design of their facades in line with the design code of the Yekaterinburg tourist center. Design projects are currently being coordinated for them, and the dismantling of old signs and the repair of facades have already begun for some of the objects.
