A cold front will approach the western borders of the Sverdlovsk region today, July 28, reports "Channel 4". Rain with thunderstorms will begin to push out the heat.
The thunderstorm system may move through the region from west to east. It may start to cool down in the western and central areas by the afternoon. The atmospheric front will continue to move across the region.
"[Today] July 28, the Sverdlovsk region will remain predominantly dry and hot, with a brief rain possible in some areas in the west of the region in the evening," says the Ural Hydrometeorological Center channel in MAX. — "On July 29-30, rain and thunderstorms are likely in other areas of the region, and the heat will drop by 4°."
From Friday, July 31 to August 2, as the cyclone moves through the Urals, precipitation will intensify: "rain may be heavy in some places, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds."
By the weekend, temperatures will drop to the climatic norm: during the day it will be around +21 °C, with rain expected.
In Yekaterinburg, it will still be up to +32 °C during the day today.
On Tuesday, the heat in Yekaterinburg set a record for July 27, which had stood since 1952, exceeding the climatic norm by 9.6°.
According to the Ural Hydrometeorological Center, over the past 24 hours (08:00 July 27 - 08:00 July 28), the air temperature in the Sverdlovsk region was 7-10° above normal.
