The movement for cars and pedestrians on Kuybyshev has been opened ahead of schedule.
The Yekaterinburg City Hall lifted restrictions on the section between March 8 and Gorky two weeks earlier than scheduled. Now cars and trams can once again travel across the bridge, and pedestrians are also allowed to walk. This was reported by Mayor Alexey Orlov.
However, the work is not yet complete. A 45-meter pedestrian tunnel is still being built under the bridge, which is intended to connect the banks of the Iset River. The reconstruction is planned to be fully completed by November.
— The construction of the underground tunnel is part of a large-scale project to create a unified walking area along both banks of the river—from the Verkh-Isetsky to the Nizhne-Isetsky reservoir, Orlov writes on his Telegram channel.
Let us remind you that the city administration previously stated that trams would start running across the bridge on August 15, but the deadlines were moved to August 1.
