Guests of the event included the first deputy chairman of the Federation Council Vladimir Yakushev, the plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Ural Federal District Artyom Zhoga, the governor of Sverdlovsk region Denis Pasler, and the mayor of Yekaterinburg Alexey Orlov, as reported by the RMC press service.
The founder of RMC Igor Altushkin participated in the solemn opening of the monument. The monument was consecrated by Metropolitan of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye Yevgeny.
In honor of City Day and the opening of the festival, which will run until August 2, about 2,000 people representing more than 30 sports disciplines of RMC marched in a solemn parade along Archangel Michael Street together with honored guests.
Later, despite the rainy weather, thousands of spectators gathered to watch a concert on the "Energy of RMC" stage featuring famous artists, including Yekaterinburg native Niletto, "factory" artist Timati, and the "star" of the early 2000s, the performer of the hit "Femme Like U," Canadian rapper K-Maro.
