Residents of Sverdlovsk were informed about dangerous water bodies in the region.
Since the beginning of 2026, 51 incidents on water have been registered in the Sverdlovsk region, resulting in the deaths of 43 people. Compared to the same period last year, the number of victims has increased by almost 30%. This was reported by the deputy head of the regional EMERCOM, Alexey Morozov.
Only in the two summer months, 30 people drowned in the region's water bodies. A year earlier, 27 deaths were recorded during the same period.
According to Morozov, the increase in tragedies is linked to weather conditions. The situation was affected by spring anomalies, as well as an unstable summer with sharp changes between rainy and hot weather.
Among children, fatal cases most often occurred on the Turya and Pyshma rivers, as well as at the Nizhnekanchanarskoye reservoir and the Patrushev pond.
At the same time, EMERCOM emphasized that during the spring flood, no cases of fatalities were recorded in the region.
