On August 4, 2026, new trolleybuses from "Sinara," for which 1.6 billion rubles were allocated from the budget, are breaking down because the factory did not provide proper insulation for the electronics. This was reported by the administration of Yekaterinburg, according to the Telegram channel Ural Mash.
"According to officials, the manufacturer placed the autonomous drive unit on the roof but did not adequately protect it from rain. Wires and cables are being flooded with water, and the function of driving from the battery is lost," Ural Mash writes.
"Sinara-Transport Machines" disagrees with these statements. They, in turn, informed Ural Mash that the city simply does not have the funds to purchase spare parts, which is why some of the new vehicles are idle.
Earlier in July, the publication "Signal" reported that some of the idle trolleybuses are under warranty from "Sinara," but the supplier is not in a hurry to carry out warranty repairs. Because of this, part of the new trolleybus fleet, purchased just a year and a half ago, is not going out on the line.
Let us remind you that the authorities of Yekaterinburg (with the help of regional and federal support) acquired 50 low-floor trolleybuses with autonomous drive of the "Sinara-6254" model produced in Chelyabinsk at the beginning of 2025.
