Four residents of Pervouralsk may face prison time for the sale and consumption of 34 grams of drugs.

In Pervouralsk, a channel for the distribution of narcotic substances has been shut down, and four individuals have been detained, from whom more than 34 grams of a prohibited substance—an acetate derivative—were seized, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Pervouralsky" reported on Friday.

On the past Tuesday, August 4, a 38-year-old man illegally sold a dark brown plastic substance to a 42-year-old local resident near a house on Zheleznodorozhnikov Street, which, according to the expert conclusion, contained a narcotic substance—an acetate derivative. The weight of the seized substance was 27.924 grams.

The recipient explained that he acquired the narcotic substance for personal use, without the intent to sell.

At the residence of the suspected dealer, a narcotic substance of the same type weighing 5.027 grams was seized, which the man intended to sell to an unspecified group of individuals. Electronic scales, cash amounting to 53,000 rubles, a blender, and a mobile phone were also seized.

It was established that earlier, from August 2 to 4, the 38-year-old detainee illegally sold no less than 1.608 grams of the narcotic substance to a 39-year-old woman, who then passed it to a 48-year-old man. The latter explained that he stored the narcotic for personal use. Both were detained, and the narcotic substance was seized.

It was found that the 38-year-old suspected dealer had previously been repeatedly prosecuted for robbery, theft, illegal possession of narcotic substances, and driving a vehicle while intoxicated. In turn, the 39-year-old woman had not been previously prosecuted.

The investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Pervouralsky" has initiated criminal cases under Part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition, storage of narcotic substances without intent to sell, in large quantities) against two drug users.

Under paragraph "g" of Part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal sale, in large quantities)—against the 39-year-old woman, for two episodes under paragraph "g" of Part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal sale, in large quantities), as well as under Part 3 of Article 30 and paragraph "g" of Part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted illegal sale, in large quantities)—against the 38-year-old man.

A preventive measure in the form of detention has been chosen for the suspected dealers.

For the two drug users, considering the absence of criminal records, the presence of a permanent residence, and stable social ties, a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave and proper behavior has been chosen.

Drug users may face a sentence of imprisonment for a term of 3 to 10 years. Those involved in the illegal sale of narcotic substances face 10 to 20 years. The investigation of the criminal case continues.
