The city hall reported when hot water will return to the homes of Yekaterinburg residents.
Hot water supply in Yekaterinburg is planned to be fully restored in August, however, specific dates for the return of hot water have not yet been announced. This was reported following an operational meeting with the governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Denis Pasler. This information is published on the official website of Yekaterinburg.
Currently, there is no hot water in more than half of the city's residential buildings. Starting Thursday, the municipal enterprise "Vodokanal" will gradually begin to increase the volume of water supplied to the heat sources. First, specialists will restore the water supply to the Gurzufskaya boiler house and the Sverdlovsk CHPP, and then the supply volumes will be increased to other facilities, including the Novo-Sverdlovsk CHPP.
The authorities expect to fully restore hot water within two weeks. However, there are no exact dates for specific districts yet. Restoration schedules will be provided to management companies and published on official websites.
Problems with water supply arose after a sharp deterioration in water quality in the Volchikhin reservoir. The cause was abnormal precipitation, which washed away various substances from the catchment area and raised bottom sediments. As a result, "Vodokanal" switched the treatment facilities to a round-the-clock operation mode.
