The reconstruction is nearing completion on the southern approach to Nizhny Tagil from the Serovsky tract. Road workers are arranging sidewalks, outdoor lighting, and barriers, the government of the Sverdlovsk region reported. Two traffic lights and a bus stop pavilion will also be installed on the section, followed by road markings.
The work is part of a comprehensive modernization of the regional road network. This year, it is planned to bring 36 sections of roads totaling 220 km into compliance in the Sverdlovsk region, as well as 14 bridges and overpasses.
Another project where infrastructure is being updated for the safety of motorists and pedestrians is the road from Aramil to the village of Andreyevka. Noise barriers, sidewalks, and outdoor lighting will be installed there.
Special attention is being paid to pedestrian crossings near schools. In 2026, it is planned to update 48 crossings and install four traffic lights based on the "home - school - home" principle. Over the past ten years, 603 crossings on regional roads have been brought up to safety standards.
In addition, 30 transport detectors will be installed in the Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Tagil agglomerations to develop intelligent transport systems.
