In Nizhny Tagil, transport police held the parents of three minors who were "train surfers" accountable, the press service of the Transport Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Ural Federal District reported on Friday.
Two seventh-graders and a fifth-grader decided for the first time to ride on the coupling between train cars after watching videos on the Internet. To do this, the friends went to the access tracks of one of the local industrial enterprises in the city and climbed onto the coupling device of a freight train that was parked at that moment.
When the train started moving, the young surfers rode on it for about two kilometers to Smychka, where they were noticed by the station duty officer, who reported the trio to the transport police.
Together with the employees of the departmental security of Russian Railways, the juvenile affairs inspectors detained one of the boys. The other teenagers managed to run away.
The boy born in 2013 provided the police with the names of the friends he rode the train with. Soon, preventive talks were held with the teenagers born in 2013 and 2012, as well as with their legal representatives at their place of residence.
The families of all three schoolchildren are complete and prosperous, and they are not on preventive records.
Inspectors from the juvenile affairs department of the Linear Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia at the Nizhny Tagil station held the parents of the teenagers administratively accountable under Article 5.35 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation.
Information about the incident has been sent to the territorial internal affairs agency, as well as to the educational institutions where the minors study.
