In Yekaterinburg, passengers on a tram of an unnamed route witnessed a brazen act by a man. He decided to stop the departing tram, which he had missed, in a rather extravagant way—by sticking his umbrella in the closing doors.
The account of an eyewitness was shared by the public page "Evil Yekaterinburg." It is so well-articulated that it deserves publication without any stylistic changes.
"The guy was late for the tram but didn’t lose his composure: he stuck his umbrella in the door—and the transport stopped. A young man and I were sitting nearby and thought that he was actually caught in the doors, so we immediately informed the driver about it.
After a brief argument, the driver opened the doors, the man calmly sat down, and left, while we were left impressed by what we had seen.
But the main victim of this story remained off-screen—the tram driver. He was stressed due to the false alarm, had to deal with the conflict, and delayed all the passengers for the sake of one person. Such behavior is a complete disrespect for the people who ensure our comfort every day."
Let us recall that in January, a court sentenced a tram driver, whose negligence caused an elderly passenger to lose a leg—it was severed by the tram's wheels. The woman did not ensure that all passengers had completed boarding and alighting, and, closing the doors, began to move, trapping a man who was descending from the tram.
