A hangar for the new generation MS-21 aircraft will be built at Koltsovo Airport.
In the near future, Koltsovo Airport and Ural Airlines will begin construction of a large hangar complex for servicing next-generation aircraft of the MS-21 type. This was reported on Sunday by the Information Policy Department of the Sverdlovsk Region.
The hangar will allow for maintaining the airworthiness of the aircraft, conducting repairs and diagnostics, noted Governor Denis Pasler, congratulating aviation industry workers—pilots, flight attendants, engineers, dispatchers, and ground service staff working in the region—on Russia's Air Fleet Day.
Denis Pasler reminded that the Sverdlovsk Region is directly involved in the development of the domestic fleet—Yekaterinburg is home to the Ural Civil Aviation Plant, where a new light 9-seat multipurpose aircraft, the LМС-901 "Baikal," is currently being created and tested for local airlines.
It became known in July that Ural Airlines is considering the possibility of purchasing the first batch of the latest Russian medium-haul aircraft, the MS-21.
