In the Sverdlovsk region, settlements have been given new names.
In the Sverdlovsk region, during the term of the Legislative Assembly from 2021 to 2026, seven settlements received official names. This concerns areas where people actually lived, but their status remained unregulated for years. Reports "Signal Ural."
One example is the village of Olkhovka in the Achit district. It was abolished back in 1976, but residents continued to live there. In 2022, the settlement was restored to official status.
In 2023, a town-type settlement called Novye Sergi was formed at the site of the former military town of Nizhnie Sergi-3. More than a thousand people currently live there. In the same year, the village in Verkhnyaya Pyshma received the official name Mostovka. Although it had been listed as uninhabited on maps since 1983, more than 20 people actually lived there.
Additionally, during this period, official names were given to the settlement of Solnechny, the village of Bileyskiy Fish Farm, and the village of Sosnovka.
According to the speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Lyudmila Babushkina, formalizing the status of settlements has helped resolve issues that have persisted since the early 2000s and created conditions for the further development of these areas.
