The Supreme Court of Russia denied the appeal of Vladimir Alexandrov, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for the rape and murder of an 11-year-old girl in Nizhny Tagil.
In a state of alcohol intoxication in August of the year before last, Alexandrov raped and then strangled the 11-year-old daughter of a neighbor in the basement of a dormitory, after which he left the Sverdlovsk region before the child's body was discovered.
After his arrest, it was revealed that earlier that same month, while drunk, he committed another crime against sexual integrity by luring a girl to him.
The Sverdlovsk Regional Court found Vladimir Alexandrov guilty under Part 1 of Article 131, Part 1 of Article 132, Part 1 of Article 127, Subparagraph "b" of Part 4 of Article 131, Subparagraphs "v" and "k" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and sentenced him to life imprisonment in a special regime colony.
The court also granted the civil claim of the father of the murdered girl. The convicted man is required to pay him 8 million rubles in compensation for moral damages.
The sentence came into legal force on March 11, 2026. However, Alexandrov filed a cassation appeal. Nevertheless, the highest judicial authority in the country recognized the sentence as lawful and justified.
