The Yekaterinburg Municipal Consumer Protection Center has not yet received any complaints from motorists linking their car breakdowns to poor-quality gasoline. This was reported by the director of the institution, Yanina Golubeva. The portal 66.RU writes about this.
According to her, the center was expecting such complaints and was ready to involve expert organizations to determine the cause of the malfunctions.
At the same time, specialists already have experience in dealing with such cases. About 10-15 years ago, several court cases took place in Yekaterinburg, where it was proven that engine damage occurred due to poor-quality fuel.
Golubeva recommends motorists, if possible, to refuel at the same gas station, keep receipts after each fuel purchase, and immediately contact a car service if a malfunction occurs. There, it is necessary to conduct diagnostics and obtain a conclusion indicating the cause of the breakdown – such a document may be needed for further proceedings.
