The young basketball player couldn't hold back tears at the opening of the court in Yekaterinburg.
On August 26, the updated Street Basketball Center was opened in Pavlik Morozov Park in Yekaterinburg. The ceremony was attended by the president of the Russian Basketball Federation Andrei Kirilenko, the governor of the Sverdlovsk region Denis Pasler, and the mayor of the city Alexey Orlov. The center features eight 3x3 basketball courts. They have been equipped with modern acrylic surfaces that meet sports requirements.
The first symbolic shot on the new court was made by 10-year-old Vladimir Orel, a student of sports school No. 3 named after Myshkin.
Last autumn, he addressed the governor during a live call-in session, requesting the construction of a street basketball court in the city. After that, the young athlete was invited along with his mother to the administration, where they discussed possible options.
