In the Urals, a well-known chain of alcohol markets bought half of a private house shared by two owners and demolished it.
In the Chelyabinsk region, a family living in a private house has been struggling for several years against a company controlled by a federal chain of alcohol markets that decided to build its office on the half of the house it purchased.
The large family of Valiullins owns the left half of a private house on Razvitiya Street in the Kolkhozny settlement. Historically, this was a single log structure built in the 1950s, writes the EAN agency. In 2022, the right part of the house and the land underneath it were purchased by LLC "Mistral." The founder of the company is Sergey Studennikov, the founder of the Chelyabinsk chain "Krasnoe&Beloye," one of the richest people in Russia.
LLC "Mistral" has its office in the Kolkhozny settlement. The company's plans included expansion, and the structure gradually bought 20 houses with land plots not far from its existing building.
The former owner of the right half of the Valiullin family's house arranged the documents in such a way in 2017 that she was able to sell her part as a separate real estate object, said Damir, the son of the owner of the left part of the house, Yusup Valiullin.
A year after purchasing the part of the house, LLC "Mistral" began its dismantling: windows, doors, part of the roof were removed, and utilities were disconnected. The work was carried out without regard for the integrity of the building.
In the old part of the house, the Valiullins have a hallway and a bathroom, while the other living spaces are located in a large brick extension.
After the business structure's work in the right part of the house, problems began in the left part (which, we remind, still belongs to an ordinary family) with the thermal contour—walls began to freeze, and mold appeared.
As Damir Valiullin claims, he was offered to buy the half of the house for 500,000 rubles. Damir called the amount ridiculous.
In their lawsuits against LLC "Mistral," the son and father Valiullin have already reached the highest instance. However, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation did not accept their application for consideration.
Meanwhile, a commission from Chelyabinsk recognized the part of the house belonging to LLC "Mistral" as uninhabitable. The next step for the LLC, in Damir's opinion, will likely be to declare it emergency and obtain permission for its demolition.
The Valiullins plan to write a complaint to the chairman of the Supreme Court of Russia, Igor Krasnov. In January 2025, the Kalininsky District Court of Chelyabinsk ordered LLC "Mistral" to restore the destroyed part of the building, but the appellate and cassation courts sided with the business. In the appellate court, the decision in favor of LLC "Mistral" was explained by the fact that the house is already old, so the new owner did not cause any damage to it.
