The Mayakovsky Park in Yekaterinburg on Saturday, August 29 turned into a large territory of geek culture for the whole day - Geek Conference, also known as GeekCon 2026.
"For one day, Yekaterinburg transforms into a multiverse of hobbies and entertainment. GeekCon brings together fans of pop culture regardless of age and interests," says the official page of the festival.
Geek culture, according to definitions from the Internet, unites people who are passionate and deeply immersed in a particular topic, most often related to science fiction. For example, fans of the universe created by Marvel can be included in this group.
They not only know all the heroes by name, read comics, watch movies, and collect merchandise, but also understand the intricacies of their characters' biographies. At the same time, geeks themselves believe that the definition of "fan" is too simple and bland for them.
