On August 26, 2026, ticks bit 67 people in the Sverdlovsk region in just one week. This was reported by the press service of the regional Rospotrebnadzor.
According to the agency, since the beginning of the season, ticks have bitten nearly 18,000 Ural residents, which is 1.6 times lower than last year's level. A total of 123 people sought hospital treatment in the region with suspected encephalitis, and 256 people with suspected borreliosis.
A Sverdlovsk doctor previously stated that tick bites can cause meat allergies.
